The culture and tourism market in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province experienced a robust growth during this year's Spring Festival holiday, welcoming more than 2.09 million tourists, an uptick of 47.3 percent year-on-year, according to authorities.

This strong performance can be largely attributed to the implementation of a series of measures rolled out by authorities, including hosting 175 cultural, tourism, and sports events featuring the city's unique maritime culture and history, and offering appointment booking services for major scenic attractions.

The city hosted a total of 2,866 tour groups, comprising 35,124 visitors, reflecting respective increases of 87.7 percent and 134.9 percent year-on-year.

The Putuo Mountain scenic area and Zhujiajian scenic spot emerged as the most popular destinations, attracting a combined 810,500 visitors.

The city's 5,051 accommodation establishments hosted 378,000 guests, marking a 53.6 percent increase compared to last year.
