An exhibition of traditional wedding furniture and wares in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province is now on at Zhoushan Museum, local media reported.

The exhibition started on April 1 and will run till May 31.

The exhibition on the city's maritime wedding customs features 84 wedding objects from the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) as well as the Republic of China era (1912-1949).

Items on display include needlework, daily necessities, food storage utensils, sacrificial supplies, and wedding furniture.

The wedding furniture includes beds, sedans and cupboards that highlight Zhoushan's exquisite craftsmanship in carving, paste-on-paste decoration, gold drawing, lacquering, and color filling.

The city's traditional wedding custom was listed as a provincial intangible cultural heritage in 2018.
