Zhoushan sees robust foreign trade growth in July

Imports and exports in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang Province were worth 34.76 billion yuan ($5.07 billion), a year-on-year increase of 88 percent, in July, official statistics show. 

Exports were valued at 11.28 billion yuan, up 89.9 percent year-on-year, and imports amounted to 23.48 billion yuan, an increase of 87.2 percent year-on-year. 

Imports and exports of bulk commodities were among the biggest contributors to the sector's growth. 

In July, fuel oil exports to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Hong Kong and Africa increased 336.1 percent, 219.4 percent and 71.9 percent respectively. 

During the same period, exports to the member states under Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership increased by 122.4 percent. Specifically, exports to Singapore totaled 2.08 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 672 percent. 

Crude oil imports from the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Oman, rose by 961.3 percent, 137.8 percent, 75.4 percent and 12.6 percent respectively. 

Imports from Iraq were valued at 3.19 billion yuan. 

Imports of fuel oil and paper products from Russia increased by 16.1 times year-on-year. 

Meanwhile, the city exported 1.23 million metric tons of refined oil products, a year-on-year increase of 24 percent, accounting for 72.3 percent of its total exports.

Zhoushan imported 3.33 million tons of crude oil products, increasing by 54.1 percent, accounting for 82.4 percent of the city's total.
