The terminal for 300,000-metric ton vessels by Zhoushan Zhongji Changhong Shipbuiding Co Ltd in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, has obtained approval from provincial authorities to receive international ships, local media reported.

The company is planning to play an active role in developing the local shipbuilding industry and generate at least 1.2 billion yuan ($190 million) in revenue per year within the following two years.

There are currently 59 terminals in Zhoushan open to international ships. Eleven more terminals in the city are expected to start receiving internationals ships this year, according to an official from Zhoushan shipping and port bureau.
