The Zhoushan delegation to the 13th Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress attended the sixth session of the congress in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang, on Jan 17.

Delegates from around Zhejiang discussed reports from provincial authorities, including the provincial government and the Standing Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress, during the conference.

Zhoushan delegates also brought their motions with them to the conference.

Delegate Guan Zhiqiang, who also presides over Darch Construction Group Co Ltd, made a suggestion to the Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress about traffic construction.

He hopes that the construction of the road connecting the city to Shanghai will begin as soon as possible so as to better serve the development of the maritime economy in Zhoushan.

Delegate Li Weiwei from Zhejiang Petroleum & Chemical Co Ltd made a suggestion about the utilization of underground space and the safe transport of hazardous chemicals.

The motions submitted by Zhoushan delegates also involve the improvement of business environment, basic education and healthcare service, as well as the high-quality development of the distant-water fishing industry in the city.
