Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province secured an order worth $4 billion at the first day of the fourth China International Import Expo, which opened in Shanghai on Nov 4.

Zhoushan-based ENN Natural Gas Co Ltd signed a 13-year sales and purchase agreement on liquefied natural gas with the United State-based Cheniere Energy, which is expected to supply about 900,000 metric tons of LNG to ENN per year.

The first phase of the ENN Zhoushan LNG receiving station in Zhoushan High-tech Industry Park started operating in 2018 and the second phase started operating in June this year. The receiving station currently is capable of receiving 8 million tons of LNG per year.

The LNG receiving station has becomes the second largest stable LNG source in Zhejiang and will help optimize the energy structure in the province, said a staff member from ENN.

Another Zhoushan-based company Zhejiang Petroleum & Chemical Co Ltd will cooperate with the Germany-based Basell Polyolefine GmbH in processing technologies with an intended contract amount of about $40 million.

Zhoushan organized 249 local companies to attend the fourth CIIE and will hold a matchmaking meeting for agricultural products during the week-long event.

The city inked purchase orders worth more than $1 billion yuan and attracted foreign-invested projects worth more than 800 million yuan during the previous three editions of CIIE.

Nearly 3,000 exhibitors from 127 countries and regions are showcasing their latest products, technologies, as well as services at the expo, using a combined exhibition space of over 360,000 square meters.
