Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province, along with six other cities in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region, launched sister-city travel cards at a meeting held in Changshu, East China's Jiangsu province, on April 22, Zhoushan Daily reported.

The six other YRD cities are Fengxian district in Shanghai, Changshu city in Jiangsu, Zhoushan, Taizhou, Jiande, and Shengsi in Zhejiang, and Lu'an in Anhui.

People who are permanent residents of the seven cities or have lived or worked in these cities for a year and made social security payments can apply for the travel card. The card allows holders to enjoy one free entry to all 36 scenic spots in the cities.

The seven cities also inked a cooperation framework agreement on all-for-one tourism with the aim of improving the tourism industry in the YRD and promoting resource sharing.

In addition to the travel card, more measures are expected to promote coordinated tourism development among the seven cities, including the construction of barrier-free tourist areas, exchanges between their museums, libraries, and art centers, and cooperation between their scenic areas and hotels.

Meanwhile, these cities will also organize culture and tourism promotional meetings together and invite other cities to attend local major cultural and tourism exhibitions and conventions.
