Cycling event in Zhoushan about to kick off

The second cycling event in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, is set to take place from 7:30 am to 6 pm on April 18, local media reported on April 7.

A total of 3,200 cyclists are expected to participate in three events: 1,500 for the full race, 1,500 for the half race, and 200 for the children's slide car race.

As of now, more than 3,000 people, 63 percent of whom comes from outside Zhejiang, had signed up for the event.

The entire route for the event spans 160 kilometers, starting from and ending at Zhoushan Stadiu. It will pass by the coastal avenue, Zhujiajian Bridge, Daqing Mountain scenic area, Luotang Road, and ancient Dinghai city, among others.

Participants who finish their race will receive a medal and a certificate. Those who complete the full and half races within the required time will also qualify for the final of the 2021 Zhoushan Cycling Marathon.

The registration fee for the event will be 130 yuan ($19.97) per person for the full race, 120 yuan for the half race, and 98 yuan for the children's slide car race.

All participants are required to register using their real name, have their temperature taken and display a green health code before entering the site of the event.

The event is sponsored by the Zhoushan municipal government and organized by the Zhoushan culture, broadcasting, television, tourism and sports bureau and Shanghai Spring Tour Co.
