Zhoushan delivers 11m passengers during Spring Festival travel rush

Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province saw a passenger flow of 10.79 million during the 40-day Spring Festival travel rush, which lasted from Jan 28 to March 8 this year, local media reported on March 13.

Affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the passenger flow in the city declined 32.68 percent compared to last year's Spring Festival travel rush.

In terms of waterway transportation, Zhoushan used 147 ships to transport 2.66 million passengers, a year-on-year decrease of 30.34 percent, and 285,900 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 34.38 percent.

In terms of road passenger transportation, the city transported 8.05 million passengers, a year-on-year decline of 33.19 percent, while 929,329 vehicles passed through the Zhoushan Cross-sea Bridge.

In terms of air transportation, Putuoshan Airport received 872 airplanes, a year-on-year decrease of 34.3 percent, and delivered 74,700 passengers, a year-on-year slump of 50.56 percent.

During this year's Spring Festival travel rush, Zhoushan dispatched 3,120 law enforcement officers to check vehicles and inspect imported cold-chain food transport vehicles entering the city.
