Western waters in Zhoushan set cargo throughput record

The western waters of Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, set a new record in the throughput of oil products and bulk cargo in 2020, local media recently reported.

More than 50 million metric tons of oil products and 50 million tons of bulk cargo were delivered in the western waters of the city last year, year-on-year increases of 69.4 percent and 45.9 percent.

The emergency storage and transportation terminal on Waidiao Island, which serves as a supporting facility of the Zhoushan green petrochemical base, unloaded 22.39 million tons of crude oil in 2020, while the Laotangshan work zone delivered 580,000 tons of bulk cargo, a year-on-year increase of 2.55 percent.

Moreover, the annual sandstone throughput of the Dahuangshan mine totaled 15.02 million tons last year.
