The China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone inked a supply agreement on bonded bunker oil with the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission on March 8, marking a further integration of marine services in the Yangtze River Delta, local media reported.

The agreement states that the two places will formulate a list of oil supply ships and achieve mutual recognition in oil supply market supervision.

Both sides will regard the integrated bunker oil supply as a start of cooperation between Zhejiang province and Shanghai in marine service. They will subsequently explore further cooperation in comprehensive service for international ships and liquefied natural gas refilling in an effort to construct a demonstration of YRD maritime cooperation, according to the agreement.

Xu Guoyi, director of the Commission Office of Shanghai Combined Port, said that Shanghai and Zhejiang FTZ carried out their first cross-port bonded bunker oil supply last October.

He expressed hopes that their cooperation will improve the overall influence and competitiveness of the ports in the YRD.
