Companies in Jintang, an industrial town in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, are busy resuming production after the Spring Festival holiday, which lasted from Feb 11 to 17 this year, local media reported on March 2.

Zhouoshan Hongtuo Machinery Co is one such company.

"We resumed operations on Feb 21, several days earlier than previous years," said Tang Chengbo, general manager of Hongtuo. "Because of more orders and more workers staying in Zhoushan for the holiday, 90 percent of our workers have started working and now are working extra shifts and hours to produce more screws."

Tang noted that Hongtuo's orders are strong enough for workers to manufacture products until the end of April.

Hongtuo used to be occupied in the foreign trade of screws. With more clients, the company has turned to machine manufacturing.

During six years of development, Hongtuo gradually expanded its production scale and thanks to its years of experience in foreign trade, 90 percent of Hongtuo's business is foreign trade. In 2020, its total output value exceeded 30 million yuan ($4.64 million).

Affected by the COVID-19 pandemic around the world, Hongtuo plans to shift its focus to the domestic market this year, targeting 40 percent of domestic trade among its total business and reaching 45 million yuan in annual output value, according to Tang.

Tang added that he will visit potential clients in Zhangjiagang two days later as the first move to explore the domestic market.

Jintang is the largest manufacturing base of screws for injection molding machines in China, with its screws accounting for more than 75 percent of the market share in the country.

Currently, the town has more than 300 screw manufacturers and supporting companies, with nearly 8 billion yuan of annual output value.
