Most visitors to Zhoushan during Spring Festival from Zhejiang

Around 59.4 percent of all tourists to Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, during the seven-day Spring Festival holiday came from within the province, according to a local municipal tourism big data platform.

Most tourists in the city came from within Zhoushan or from the Zhejiang cities of Ningbo, Taizhou, Wenzhou, Hangzhou, and Jiaxing. Meanwhile, Anhui, Henan, Shandong, Jiangsu, and Sichuan were the five provinces in the country that sent the most tourists to the city.

During the seven-day holiday, Putuo Mountain, Daishan Island, Shengsi Island, Qushan Island, and Shengshan Island attracted large numbers of tourists.

As of 12 pm on Feb 17, Putuo Mountain received 183,157 tourists, while the main islands in Zhoushan, including Zhujiajian Island, Daishan Island, Huaniao Island, and Shengshan Island, received 343,714 tourists.

In addition, travel agencies in the city received 837 tour groups and 6,358 tourists.

Zhoushan had organized more than 200 activities for tourists as of Feb 17 during the Spring Festival holiday, which were attended by over 700,000 people both online and offline.

For example, Guanyin Shrine at Guanyin Cultural Park on Zhujiajian Island launched an online praying activity on WeChat, which received more than 12,000 wishes from around the country on its first day, while a similar praying activity held by Putuo Mountain scenic area attracted nearly 5 million participants.

In order to ensure a safe tourism environment, Zhoushan dispatched 1,052 workers to inspect tourism-related businesses during the holiday.
