The China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone in Zhoushan has made strong progress in agricultural product trading over the past year, local media reported on Jan 14.

The Zhejiang International Agricultural Product Trading Center in the Zhejiang FTZ generated 24 billion yuan in trade in 2020.

In November last year, the trading center was recognized by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce as an innovation demonstration zone for the promotion of import trade in the province.

In addition, the Zhejiang FTZ promoted the construction and improvement of agricultural platforms in 2020.

The main buildings of the China-Australia Modern Industrial Park, which includes a comprehensive bonded logistics park for agricultural products, and its 30,000-metric ton wharfs have all been completed.

An entire industrial chain for deep-sea seafood consisting of fishing, trading, processing, logistics, and research and development has taken shape in the Zhejiang FTZ, and a seafood manufacturing industrial park funded by Zhejiang Ocean Family Co and an industrial park of China National Agricultural Development Group Co are currently under construction.

The Zhejiang FTZ also stepped up efforts to attract investment in 2020.

The deep-sea fishing base in the Zhejiang FTZ introduced three deep-sea fishing and sea food processing companies in 2020 with a total registered capital of 163 million yuan. It also secured three projects worth more than 100 million yuan with a total planned investment of nearly 500 million yuan.

In addition, the Zhejiang International Agricultural Product Trading Center secured more than 1 billion yuan in agreements at promotional events held in September and November.

The Zhejiang FTZ also sought cooperation with leading agricultural product companies in China, including Shanghai Greenland Group, Zhejiang Agricultural Development Group, and Jiangsu Yurun Group.
