Marine Altar

Historical records show that the tradition of offering sacrifices to the sea in Daishan started in the Tang (618-907) and Song dynasties (960-1279). Visitors to the altar will marvel at the ancient marine culture.

Tongpan Bay

Tongpan Mountain, stretching into the sea, resembles a miniature peninsula. The mountain is connected to Yanwo Mountain and surrounded by the sea on three sides.

Due to continuous erosion by the sea for thousands of years, Tongpan Bay was formed, which is composed of a dozen gullies and small beach reefs.

When the tide rises, the sound of the waves rushing into the gullies and crashing up against the rocks is a thing to behold. However, when sitting above, the sound of the waves below is very soothing.
