The total passenger volume in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, during this year's Spring Festival travel season (from early February to mid-March), is expected to reach 9.03 million, with road transport accounting for 4.2 million, waterway transport 4.54 million, and Zhoushan Putuoshan Airport handling 288,000 passenger trips.

The 2026 Chinese New Year holiday has been extended to nine days, potentially setting a new record for passenger traffic. To manage the surge, the city's municipal transport bureau will focus on transportation organization, safety, and service support.

A total of 1,633 road vehicles with 46,644 seats are expected to be deployed; waterway services will involve 153 passenger ferries offering 43,407 seats and 909 vehicle spots; and the airport is expected to handle 2,500 flights.

During the Spring Festival travel season, the city will continue to improve the travel environment by maintaining ticketing windows and check-in channels in operation, and by enhancing smart services for the elderly, children, and other vulnerable groups to improve accessibility.
