Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province welcomed more than 50 expats from the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, Japan, Morocco, Chile, and other countries on Nov 15 to experience the city's maritime heritage and island lifestyle.

Zhoushan is known as a coastal garden city shaped by its island geography and a strong maritime economy. In recent years, the city has expanded its ocean-related industries and improved its role in national initiatives linked to shipping, port services, and marine development. It is home to major industrial clusters, including a large green petrochemical complex, an advanced ship repair and marine engineering base, and key hubs for bulk commodity distribution and distant-water fishing. During the first three quarters of this year, the growth of several core economic indicators placed the city at the province's forefront.

During the visit, participants will tour Zhoushan's landmarks, including the Zhoushan City Exhibition Hall, Daqingshan National Park on Zhujiajian Island, the Shuanghe Shibi scenic area on Daishan Island, and the ancient fishing towns on Dongsha Island. The program also offers the visitors a close look at Zhoushan's marine culture and its efforts to build shared prosperity across its many islands.
