Enterprises from Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, reached intended deals worth $22 million at the 138th China Import and Export Fair, known as the Canton Fair, which concluded on Nov 4.
During the fair's third phase, 12 companies signed tentative agreements totaling more than $7 million, with mechanical and toy product exhibitors reporting robust outcomes.
The "pet economy" sector emerged as a highlight during the third phase, offering new growth opportunities for Zhoushan businesses seeking to expand into overseas markets. Jin Zhen Food, which traditionally focuses on seafood snacks, began expanding into pet supplies last year. At its first appearance at the fair, the company presented over 40 varieties of canned and freeze-dried pet foods, attracting considerable interest from Southeast Asian buyers. The firm plans to send product samples for third-party and palatability tests to advance potential orders.
Veteran exhibitor Sunsun Group, which has participated in over 40 sessions of the Canton Fair, joined both the first and third phases of this year's fair. The company showcased aquarium products and pet supplies, including its newly launched smart feeders and drinking fountains.
