Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province continued to see strong tourism momentum during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, receiving about 1.24 million visits between Oct 1 and Oct 7, up 17.9 percent year-on-year.

Among them, 928,000 were overnight stays, up 16.3 percent year-on-year. The city recorded total tourism revenue of 1.68 billion yuan ($23.57 million), with an average per-visitor spend of 1,347 yuan. Out-of-province travelers, mainly from Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Anhui, accounted for 61.8 percent of all visitors.

Zhoushan activated its top-level holiday tourism response plan to ensure smooth operations across the city. Traffic remained stable despite heavy flow, with 728,000 vehicles crossing the Zhoushan Cross-Sea Bridge and 623,000 on the Zhujiajian Bridge. Coordinated traffic control, free shuttle buses, and tidal-flow management helped balance vehicle peaks.

Over 370 cultural and tourism events were held citywide, including concerts, art exhibitions, and local fairs, boosting spending through cultural creativity and community participation.

Through innovations and consumer incentives, Zhoushan transformed its holiday season into a vibrant cultural and tourism celebration.
