The 19th Shanghai International Fisheries and Seafood Exhibition began on Aug 27. Five mussel enterprises from Shengsi county in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, presented a full range of thick-shell mussel products at the event.

The exhibitors highlighted fresh offerings and innovative technologies, reaching multiple cooperation agreements with domestic and overseas buyers.
Visitors sampled freshly cooked mussels at the booth, with many praising their size, flavor, and freshness. Products on display included half-shell, whole-shell, frozen, and dried mussel varieties.
Company representatives also introduced advanced aquaculture methods such as artificial upwelling, emphasizing the combination of a clean marine environment and scientific farming as Shengsi's competitive edge.
The booth drew strong interest from buyers from Chile, Russia, Thailand, and several Chinese provinces, including Guangdong, Fujian, and Jiangsu. Many expressed intent to collaborate after sampling the products.

In recent years, Shengsi has advanced its mussel sector through technical upgrades and brand development, building a stronger value chain that has turned the island industry into a pillar of local prosperity.
