The 2025 IWSA WingFoil Racing World Cup China will take place in Daishan county, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, from Sept 2 to 8.

The event will gather more than 120 elite athletes from 14 countries and regions, including China, the United States, France, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Greece, and Italy. The top-ranked competitors include Mathis Ghio and Julien Rattotti of France, as well as Italy's Maddalena Maria Spanu and Charlotte Baruzzi.

Members of China's national youth wingfoil team will also participate, testing their strength against world-class athletes. The competition carries a prize pool of 60,000 euros (about $70,271) and 600 international ranking points.

The program features three sections: the World Cup with men's and women's course races, long-distance races, and marathon races; the China Kiteboard Tour Daishan stop with men's and women's races and masters' divisions; and the Zhejiang Kiteboard Open championship with men's and women's races.

Daishan was chosen for its coastal resources and proven track record in hosting major watersport competitions, including the 2023 China Kiteboard Tour. Organizers have finalized preparations, with detailed arrangements for safety, rescue, weather monitoring, and reception.

This September, Daishan is set to present a world-class stage for wingfoil racing, highlighting both the global talent and its growing presence in China.
