A music carnival themed "Listen to the Romantic Sea" is set to light up Baisha Island in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, on Aug 30, offering visitors an immersive seaside celebration during Qixi Festival, also known as Chinese Valentine's Day.

The event combines live performances with a coastal market to strengthen Baisha's image as a "romantic island".

The evening concert will begin at 7 pm, with the lighthouse, sunset, and waves forming a natural backdrop. Well-known performers will deliver a mix of music and dance styles, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

Alongside the performances, a seaside market will feature 13 stalls selling drinks, snacks, and cultural products. Visitors can receive commemorative Qixi boat tickets and participate in activities such as raffles and beer challenges. Limited-edition gifts like themed ice cream and beer will also be distributed.

To encourage young travelers, Baisha Island has introduced a special ticket policy for recent graduates, allowing free round-trip tickets on selected ferry routes with admission or exam documents.

Beyond the carnival, Baisha Island remains a slow-paced travel destination, blending natural scenery and cultural charm. The Baisha Lighthouse, cliff viewpoints, and murals have become favorite stops for visitors, offering both coastal views and memorable photo opportunities.
