An exhibition titled Light and Shadow of the Maritime Film City began at the Zhoushan Art Museum in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, on Aug 21, presenting more than 300 film and television works shot across the city.
Zhoushan has long been favored by production teams for its natural scenery and cultural heritage, from historic fishing grounds and Buddhist sites to fishing ports, ancient towns, and temples. Many visitors at the opening expressed surprise at the number of well-known productions filmed in the area.
Running through Aug 31, the exhibition highlights the city's role in local productions and external collaborations, offering a comprehensive view of Zhoushan's film development. It also aims to promote the city's unique resources to attract more filmmakers and enhance the brand influence of the "Maritime Film City".
Serving as a platform for the public to explore Zhoushan's film culture and island charm, the exhibition is also expected to boost cooperation between the film sector and tourism, driving growth in related industries.
