The Dapukou container terminal in the Jintang port area of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, East China's Zhejiang province, launched a new international route on Aug 4, marked by the arrival of the Liberia-flagged container ship Navios Devotion.
The vessel delivered 2,789 twenty-foot equivalent units of goods, including automobiles and lithium batteries, and departed for Hong Kong after loading an additional 350 TEUs.
The new "Kilima Xpress Route" increases the number of foreign trade routes at the terminal to 52, marking a continued expansion of its international shipping network. Operated by French shipping group CMA CGM, the route connects Singapore directly to key African ports, including those in Kenya and Tanzania.
This route meets the growing export demand from markets across Africa and strengthens regional trade links. It also supports local exporters in accessing emerging markets amid a broader global trade rebound.
The terminal now connects to RCEP members, Russia, and other strategic regions. Routes connected to Belt and Road partner countries account for 85 percent of its operations. According to Zhoushan Customs, the Jintang port area handled over 2.0497 million TEUs in the first seven months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 48.2 percent.
