Rao Xinyu from Zhoushan city, East China's Zhejiang province, recently triumphed at the 3rd Belt and Road Athletics Invitational Meeting & 2025 National Athletics Grand Prix Series-3rd Leg in Changshou district, Chongqing.

Rao took home gold in the women's 800m final with a time of 2 min 10.36 sec

During the race, Rao took the lead by ramping up her pace — seizing the opportunity to overtake the frontrunner from the outside lane at the 500-meter mark.

In the sprint phase, Rao continued to widen her lead to secure the championship title.

The competition was a Silver Label event certified by World Athletics, attracting over 1,200 outstanding athletes from 26 countries and regions, including China, Australia, and Japan.

Rao is a rising Chinese track and field star who has achieved great results to date, including winning the women's 400 meters and 800 meters at the 2018 Asian Youth Athletics Championships, the women's 800 meters at the 2024 National Athletics Grand Prix (fifth station) and winning third place in the women's 800 meters at the 2025 National Indoor Athletics Championships.
