Zhoushan Customs issues 2,617 certificates of origin in Q1

Updated : 2025-04-25 (chinadaily.com.cn)

Certificates of origin serve as a proof for export enterprises to enjoy preferential tariff treatment in the importing country. Zhoushan Customs has been continuously optimizing its origin certification services, issuing a total of 2,617 certificates of origin in various types in the first quarter of this year, benefiting nearly 200 enterprises.

The Zhejiang Xingye Group Company exports around 600 metric tons of smoked fish products to Japan annually. With the RCEP certificate of origin issued by the customs authority, the import tariff in Japan will be reduced from 10 percent to 6.4 percent, saving nearly 1 million yuan ($137,049) in tariffs.

In the first quarter of this year, the company's export value involving origin certification reached 94.9 million yuan, covering 13 countries and regions.

"The tariff concessions under the RCEP have greatly facilitated our product expansion in overseas markets," said Lin Siqing, a staff member of Zhejiang Xingye Group Company. Some certificates of origin were also available for self-printing this year, providing great convenience for the company's products exported to Southeast Asia requiring such certificates.

Shao Weidong, deputy chief of the comprehensive business section II at Zhoushan Customs, mentioned that in addition to enhancing tax service supply, Zhoushan Customs has improved the convenience of origin certificate issuance.

By promoting the review of origin certificates and implementing self-printing options, the Zhoushan Customs aims to guide enterprises in fully benefiting from policy dividends.
