The Fifth Sanmao Prose Award Night 2025 was held in Dinghai, Zhoushan, on April 20, where 26 works received accolades.

This edition of the Sanmao Prose Award began collecting submissions in April of last year and received a record 716 works from Chinese writers both domestically and internationally.

The youngest award recipient is a Kazakh writer under 30. In addition, Zhou Miao from Zhoushan won the award, and his writing portrays the charm of marine ecology.

Since its inception in 2016, the Sanmao Prose Award has received strong support from San Mao's family. San Mao's younger brother, Chen Jie, submitted an exclusive authorization letter for organizing the sixth to 10th Sanmao Prose Awards.

On the same day, the award-winning writers also planted olive trees by hand, leaving their mark in Dinghai.

After five editions over 10 years, the literary award named after Sanmao has nurtured a profound brand effect, continuously propelling Dinghai's cultural exchange towards the international stage.
