The TK-04 liquefied natural gas storage tank of ENN (Zhoushan) LNG Co – located in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province – passed inspection by Hangzhou Customs on March 31, becoming a certificated bonded warehouse.
This marks it as the first LNG bonded warehouse in the Zhoushan area of the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone, providing robust support for the development of the local oil and gas industry.
"The bonded storage tank we applied for has a capacity of 160,000 cubic meters, laying the foundation for LNG bonded operations," said Liu Biao, chief financial officer of ENN (Zhoushan) LNG Co.

In recent years, LNG has gained popularity in the energy sector, with the international shipping industry increasingly opting for LNG over traditional fuels. In August 2023, Zhoushan had its first bonded LNG bunkering for international vessels.
By improving efficiency and reducing operating costs, this new LNG bonded warehouse is expected to attract more business to Zhoushan for various LNG operations.
"Easier access to LNG resources and cheaper logistics will attract more international vessels and accelerate Zhoushan's development as a global bonded marine fuel bunkering center," said Xu Degang, chief of the bonded supervision section at Zhoushan Customs.
