The spring harvest season for Putuo Buddha tea has recently commenced at the core tea-growing region of Foding Mountain Ecological Tea Garden in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, as dozens of tea pickers gathered the first batch of tender buds.

Rooted in the ancient tea-related activities and ceremonies of Tang Dynasty (618-907), Putuo Buddha tea is planted at the prime tea-growing latitude of 30 degrees north. Its core production area includes four major tea gardens in Zhoushan.

This year's spring tea yield is expected to reach 1,250 kilograms, with approximately 175 kilograms of premium first-pick tea, according to a representative from Putuo Mountain Haitian Buddha Tea Co.

Last year, the company launched several new tea drinks at its tea shops to enhance in-store experience, which captivated younger clients and offered tourists a taste of Buddha tea culture.

During the Spring Festival holiday, the company's two stores sold a total of 12,600 beverages, according to the representative from Putuo Mountain Haitian Buddha Tea Co.

Currently, Putuo Buddha tea offers over 30 products across varieties of green, black, and dark tea, gaining popularity in first-tier cities in China and exported to Europe and the United States.
