During the 40-day 2025 Spring Festival travel rush that concluded on Feb 22, Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province handled 9.4 million passengers across sea, land, and air transportation.
This year, Zhoushan saw an overall increase in passenger flows across all modes of transport, with the total passenger volume up 9.64 percent year-on-year.
Road transport accounted for 4.90 million passengers, a 9.61 percent increase; water transport saw 4.23 million passengers, up 10.02 percent; and air transport handled 274,700 passengers, a 4.72 percent rise.
The peak travel day was Jan 30, with a total passenger volume of 392,300.

During the travel rush, the Putuo Mountain route emerged as one of the most popular inter-island water routes in the country.
In all, the Putuo Mountain Passenger Terminal handled a total of 2.82 million passengers, a 12 percent increase – with its daily passenger flow accounting for nearly 10 percent of national waterway traffic.
Traffic on the Zhoushan Cross-Sea Bridge experienced slight fluctuations, but remained high overall. The total vehicle flow in and out of Zhoushan Island during the Spring Festival travel period was 1.6 million, up 6.47 percent year-on-year; for Daishan Island, it was 467,100 vehicles, an increase of 9.39 percent.
In terms of passenger destinations, the Zhoushan Putuoshan International Airport saw new travel hotspots emerging, with passengers heading to Northeast China and to Hong Kong.
