The convergence of family visits, student travel, tourism, labor migration and freight transport will lead to peak traffic periods during the Spring Festival holiday, as well as around Lantern Festival.
This year, the Spring Festival holiday has been extended to eight days, with toll-free highways for small vehicles, driving a surge in travel demand. Popular spots like the Putuo Mountain scenic area and the Zhujiajian scenic area are expected to face high traffic volumes.
To manage the large influx of visitors, Zhoushan is continuing to add ferry services and free shuttle bus services from Zhoushan Island to Mount Putuo.
