Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province has made significant strides over the past year in advancing its three major actions to build a beautiful and harmonious countryside.

The city has successfully renovated 1,274 farmhouses, upgraded utility lines in 15 villages, and improved roads in 37 villages.

In Gaoxie village, Baiquan town, Dinghai district, visitors are now greeted by vibrant wall murals. Strolling along the newly paved roads, visitors can find leisure stations and parks that have been thoughtfully arranged. The village is home to new fitness trails, resting benches, and meticulously designed flower beds, welcoming every passerby.

Gaoxie village has comprehensively renovated and beautified its roads, squares, courtyards, and other public spaces. Measures such as wall painting, streetlight installations, and the addition of scenic elements have created a beautiful and livable environment for residents.

In Huangyangjian village, Putuo district, a 100-meter-long road is being fitted with gas pipelines. The village has undertaken a unified planning and design approach for various utility lines to make their setup more orderly and reasonable.

Since last year, Zhoushan has removed 256 obsolete utility poles, cleared 125 kilometers of old wires, and improved household wiring for over 1,500 homes. Additionally, 120 kilometers of rural roads have been newly built, renovated, or upgraded.
