At the factory of Zhoushan Dongfang Printing and Dyeing Co within the Dinghai Industrial Park in Zhoushan, rough and dull grey cloth is being transformed into vibrant jacquard fabric through processes such as heat treatment, dyeing, and printing on Dec 6.

In the first three quarters of this year, Zhoushan Dongfang Printing and Dyeing Co achieved an output of 250 million yuan ($34.35 million), a 20 percent increase compared to the previous year.

In recent years, the company has partnered with industry-leading companies to introduce new technologies and equipment, improving production efficiency and making the produced jacquard fabrics brighter and more skin-friendly, according to Zhang Xiao, general manager of Zhoushan Dongfang Printing and Dyeing Co.

In June this year, the company purchased a 4-million-yuan piece of equipment that uses approximately 40 percent less water and 30 percent less gas. The greener production is helping the company move away from the high energy consumption and pollution typical of traditional dyeing enterprises, Zhang added.

"In the past, our share in the mid-to-high-end African jacquard fabric market was only 5 percent. With the improved product quality and our efforts to grow the market, our share has increased to 30 percent," said Zhang.
