The 1390 Island Trail Running in 2024 kicked off on Lujiazhi Island and Lincheng New Area in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, on Nov 9 and attracted over 1,200 trail runners from around the world.

As the largest long-distance tourism sports event in Zhoushan, the 1390 Island Trail Running has been held three times since 2021, drawing a total of 5,000 participants. It has also introduced locals to the joys and power of trail running.

Participants traversed diverse terrains including paved roads, mountain paths, forest trails, and ancient post roads, which offer modern cityscapes, quaint villages, and breathtaking views of the ocean.

A big highlight was the 106-kilometer cross-country segment, lasting up to 31 hours, where runners experienced the islands' sunrise and sunset, starry skies, and twinkling city lights, harmoniously engaging with nature.

The event has also integrated Zhoushan's rich tourism resources with activities like Trail Culture Day, trail forums, fairs, and online running events.

Participants also enjoyed free entry to several scenic spots during the event.
