The newly constructed passenger ferry Liu Heng 6 docked at berth 3 of the Da'ao Passenger Terminal on Liuheng Island in Putuo district, Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, on Nov 8.
This ferry will serve the route between Liuheng Island and Shenjiamen Fishing Port, providing passengers with safer and more comfortable travel.
The blue and white Liu Heng 6 was funded by an investment of 23.5 million yuan ($3.27 million) by Zhejiang Zhoushan Islands New Area East China Traffic Investment Development Co.
The ferry is 47.2 meters long, 8.5 meters wide, and 3.4 meters deep, with a gross tonnage of 495 metric tons. It is designed to withstand winds up to Level 9 and has a cruising speed of 17 knots. The ferry can accommodate 318 passengers across three decks: upper, middle, and lower cabins.
USB ports are included on one side of the seats for charging mobile devices. The ferry is also equipped with satellite TV, Wi-Fi, and for the first time, U-shaped intelligent life buoys.
