The Ping Tai Rong Future Marine Industrial Park acquired a land parcel in Zhoushan National Pelagic Fishing Base, securing approximately 38,000 square meters of industrial land, according to local media on Nov 2.
The park will integrate various fields such as raw tuna products, cold chain logistics, and marine health intelligent manufacturing.
Founded in 2007, Ping Tai Rong Ocean Fishery Group Co is a comprehensive pelagic fishing enterprise in Zhoushan specializing in the fishing, transportation, processing, and sales of tuna. The company achieved an output value of 1.15 billion yuan ($162.18 million) in 2023.
The park covers a total area of approximately 77,300 square meters, with a total investment of 560 million yuan. Once fully operational, the entire project is expected to generate an annual output value of 700 million yuan.
The recently acquired land is for the second phase of the project, located in the northeast of Zhoushan National Pelagic Fishing Base. It will include facilities for processed tuna products, wastewater treatment, docks, and an office complex.
The park will increase the benefits of aggregation for the base's pelagic fisheries, forming a complete tuna industry value chain that includes harvesting, processing, utilizing, and developing deeply, as expressed by a representative from the Zhoushan Ocean Fishery Group Corp.
