Passengers traveling to Zhoushan's southern islands can now skip the ticket window and purchase ferry tickets online. According to the Dinghai district transportation bureau, routes from Dinghai Passenger Terminal to the southern islands have launched an online ticketing service.

Travelers can buy tickets through the "Zhoushan Traffic" WeChat mini-program or the "Zhoushan Traffic" section on the Zheliban app. The new service covers five routes to nine destinations, including Zhairuo Mountain, Panzhi, Cishan, and Damao.

Wang, a frequent visitor to Dongju Island, shared her relief: "We used to queue at the ticket window, often missing our boat due to uncertain schedules. Now, online ticketing allows us to check schedules and availability and purchase tickets conveniently."

The system, optimized after a trial run, allows passengers to check in with their ID cards and scan a QR code on their e-tickets to have invoices issued.
