Zhoushan in Zhejiang province initiated a mobile medical campaign on May 24, aiming to deliver essential healthcare services to residents of small and remote islands.
A total of 44 medical teams have been assembled for the mission.
Authorities plan to establish 165 mobile medical service points throughout the city, including 61 fixed points situated on inhabited small islands and fishing villages that lack medical institutions, and 104 mobile points.
This initiative is designed to ensure comprehensive coverage, leaving no household or individual unattended.
To date, the city has conducted 719 mobile medical service visits, involving over 1,700 medical personnel. These services have reached more than 80 remote islands, villages, and communities, providing medical consultations and examinations to 20,400 residents.
Additionally, these efforts have resulted in direct medical cost reductions for the local population, totaling over 50,000 yuan ($6,899.63).
