"Inspired by a short video showcasing Xuanshan Island's unspoiled beauty, I embarked on a solo adventure equipped with camping gear," noted Ding Jiahao, an intrepid explorer from Ningbo.

Located in Putuo district, Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, Xuanshan Island has introduced a well-appointed campsite featuring essential amenities like restrooms, shower facilities, and dining areas, ensuring a comfortable and convenient camping experience for visitors.

The establishment of the campsite is part of a broader initiative by local authorities to leverage the island's unique natural resources in order to develop tourism and drive rural vitalization.

During this year's May Day holiday, the island witnessed a surge in tourist traffic, with a total of 1,000 visitors flocking to its shores.

He Kefan, Party secretary of Xuanshan village, highlighted ongoing endeavors to rejuvenate disused residential structures into homestay accommodations to cater to the growing influx of visitors and breathe new life into rural tourism.

Moreover, a state-of-the-art fresh cold storage warehouse was established on the island at the end of 2023, promising to revolutionize sales avenues for the bountiful catches of local fishing boats, thereby increasing residents' incomes.
