The Shulanghu terminal in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province achieved a significant milestone by unloading over 10 million metric tons of iron ore in the first quarter of this year, marking a year-on-year increase of 0.56 percent.
During this period, the terminal set multiple records, notably completing the unloading of the Yuan Shi Hai vessel, carrying 400,000 tons, in a record-breaking time of just over 33 hours. It also achieved the loading of 321,200 tons of iron ore within a single day and night, further demonstrating its efficiency and capacity.
Moreover, the terminal successfully reduced the loading time for vessels ranging from 40,000 to 50,000 tons to under 10 hours for the first time. It also accomplished an unprecedented "40,000 tons + 20,000 tons" dual berthing of ore carriers, showcasing its operational versatility and capabilities.
Shulanghu is poised to leverage its five major advantages in deep water, strategic location, bonded logistics, and processing. This strategic positioning will contribute to supporting the Ningbo Zhoushan Port in establishing a cluster of bulk cargo berths with a capacity of 1 billion tons.
