Daishan sees robust increase in market entities

Daishan County in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province has been proactively implementing a series of measures to optimize and enhance its business environment in recent years, establishing itself as a fertile ground for enterprise and individual investment and development.

As of December 2023, the county boasted a total of 20,805 market entities with a registered capital of 94.56 billion yuan ($13.18 billion), showing respective year-on-year growth of 9.82 percent and 6.57 percent.

In 2023, Daishan witnessed a notable increase in the number of new market entities, with 2,719 new individual businesses arising, marking a significant 39.36 percent year-on-year growth. This expansion encompassed a total capital influx of 847 million yuan and spanned across major industries, including wholesale and retail, leasing and commercial services, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fisheries, as well as accommodation and catering.

Moreover, the county experienced substantial growth in the scale of new enterprises, with 724 newly established businesses bringing in a total registered capital of 109.58 billion yuan, which was a 29.06 percent year-on-year increase.

The robust momentum of market entities in Daishan can be attributed to the effective implementation of national, provincial, and municipal policies, as well as the comprehensive optimization of the business environment and approval services.

Daishan has made significant progress in advancing one-stop reform for market access and operation, aiming to create a market entry process with zero cost and a streamlined approval process, while also exploring feasible paths for value-added services.

The county has diversified its service systems, establishing an exceptional entrepreneurial investment zone on the island and ensuring that capital is not only attracted but also retained.
