More than 40 enterprises from Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, are set to showcase their exceptional tuna products at the inaugural Yangtze River Delta Tuna Development Conference in Hangzhou, capital of the province, on Jan 15.

Chen Qi, general manager of the Business Affairs Division at Pingtairong Ocean Fishery Group, a leading tuna processing facility in the city, highlighted that his company has prepared over 10 derivative products, including fish balls, slices, and fish fillets, along with more than 20 deep-processed products such as peptide powder, fish oil, and low-molecular-weight peptide facial masks.

Additionally, the company will present five different species of self-caught deep-sea fish during the event.

With over 120 tuna fishing vessels currently in operation, Zhoushan boasts an annual output of more than 70,000 metric tons, representing 40 percent of the national total input. This solidifies its position as the largest domestic port for self-caught tuna from the open sea, as stated by a representative of the city's Marine and Fisheries Bureau.

The representative further emphasized that Zhoushan has nurtured a unique tuna industrial cluster, and the conference will serve as a platform for enterprises to broaden their horizons, expand their thinking, enhance product innovation, facilitate smooth market channels and strengthened cooperation.

Furthermore, Zhoushan is set to launch a tuna promotion during the event.
