Construction of Liuheng Island's largest oil depot facility in Putuo district, Zhoushan, was completed on Jan 7, three months ahead of schedule.
The facility, which cost two billion yuan ($280.09 million) to build, has a total tank capacity of 1.88 million cubic meters spread across 67 storage tanks.
The depot is equipped with an intelligent control system that enables a real-time display of data from the storage area, pipeline corridor, and wharf on the monitoring wall, significantly enhancing operational efficiency.
The oil depot also features a rainwater monitoring station and an exhaust gas treatment system in the solid waste area, ensuring environmentally friendly operations.
Primarily designed to store fuel oil, crude oil, and finished petroleum products, the newly constructed tank storage area, as noted by a facility staff member, is poised to meet the diverse needs of customers for oil storage and transshipment.
The staff member added that the facility will play a key role in optimizing the functions of Ningbo Zhoushan Port, promoting the development of the Zhoushan finished petroleum product storage and transshipment market, and establishing Zhoushan as an international oil and gas storage and transportation base.
