The Putuo Ecological Education Base in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province has been listed as a provincial demonstration zone for conducting ecological education, as announced by the Department of Ecology and Environment of Zhejiang Province on Dec 16.

In total, 20 locations throughout the province received the honor.

The base has made remarkable achievements in environmental protection, green industries, and the creation of aesthetically pleasing villages. Its main buildings showcase the implementation of advanced green, low-carbon technology.

The base has also implemented cutting-edge environmental protection equipment and technologies such as sewage treatment models, exhaust gas treatment devices, noise principle demonstrations, and solid waste resource utilization.

In addition, the base has taken a series of proactive measures, including providing the public with immersive environmental experiences, to promote a low-carbon and environmentally friendly lifestyle and mindset to the public.

Presently, Zhoushan is home to a total of 15 such ecological education bases.
