Zhoushan's fishery and agricultural products proved highly popular at the five-day Zhejiang Agricultural Fair which concluded in Hangzhou on Dec 11, achieving total sales of more than 2.4 million yuan ($334,465.15), according to authorities.

The city's six geographical indication seafood products including mussels and agricultural products such as tomatoes and yellow narcissus were the best-sellers.

Zhoushan also held a special promotional event for its mussels, during which the latest preservation technology was showcased, making it possible to preserve mussels for an additional 18 days.

The city's salt products and pork were given gold awards during the fair.

The fair is key to promoting Zhoushan's signature agricultural products, which will in turn aid its common prosperity drive, said local authorities.
