The GDP of Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province was valued at 150.92 billion yuan ($20.66 billion) in the first nine months of this year, up 9.2 percent year-on-year, according to statistics released by the Zhoushan bureau of statistics on Oct 23.
The city's agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery industries registered a year-on-year increase of 4.4 percent to 20.38 billion yuan during the nine-month period.
The added value of Zhoushan's large-scale industries expanded by 17.7 percent year-on-year from January to September, 2.5 percentage points higher than in the first half of the year.
Stable growth was seen in its service sector, which registered a year-on-year growth of 6.9 percent in added value from January to September, contributing 3.1 percentage points to its GDP.
Over the same period, the city's investment in fixed assets recorded a 7.6 percent increase.
The city welcomed 12.15 million tourists during the period, a year-on-year increase of 42.1 percent, and tourism revenue hit 18.79 billion yuan, up 42.2 percent year-on-year.
Income levels also improved. The city's overall per capita disposable income in the first three quarters of this year increased by 7.1 percent to 52,630 yuan.
