Dinghai district in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, has witnessed a robust growth in its digital economy, with the operating income of its core industries having achieved a growth rate of 40.9 percent in the first half of this year, according to authorities.

The district has built a complete marine electronic information industrial cluster consisting of more than 300 enterprises.

Authorities have also released an action plan this year to bolster the district's marine electronic information industrial cluster featuring new energy electronics, satellite navigation communication, marine electronic components, and smart ocean software information.

The local government has been ramping up efforts to cultivate more high-tech companies, with 75 small and medium-sized ones added this year.

Fifteen scientific programs have been carried out this year, all aimed at consolidating and enhancing the dominant achievements and market share of marine digital enterprises in the fields of micro-nano optical devices, precision ultramicro motors, marine environmental monitoring, information technology in the deep-sea fishing industry, and maritime big data.

In addition, the district has taken the lead in promoting the first marine data intellectual property insurance policy in Zhoushan, ensuring the value of data for marine electronic information enterprises.
