Daishan county in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, held a mud fun sports event to welcome the upcoming Asian Games in Hangzhou on Sept 16.

The event took place at the county's Xiushan Mud Themed Park, attracting nearly 150 athletes to engage in a unique and fun sports competition on the tidal flats.

The event aims to create an atmosphere of mass participation, healthy sports, and enthusiastic interaction, promoting the concept of "civilization, health, happiness, and sports" and advocating a healthy lifestyle and a positive and progressive spirit, according to authorities.

The fun mud sports event is also a major cultural exchange brand activity in the county, and as such will empower and enhance the sports gala competition.
