Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province held the Cross-Strait University Film and Culture Festival on July 27, during which a short video contest was launched.

The contest, themed on "Crossing the Strait, Embracing Beauty: the Two Sides of the Strait in My Eyes", aims to create and document the new aspects and cultural beauty of cities on both sides of the strait.

The event aims to promote outstanding film and video works by young university students as well as showcase the scenic beauty of the two sides on internet platforms.

The event will award two Best Work awards, three Excellent Work awards, and eight Finalist awards. Participants are required to submit original works created within the past year. The video resolution should be 1920x1080 or higher, in MP4 format, can be shot horizontally or vertically, and should have a duration of approximately three minutes.

Registration for the contest is now open. Students are encouraged to submit their works to wzs@zhoushan.cn. The email subject should be "我眼中的两岸 + 短视频名称 + 联系方式 (The two sides of the Strait in my eyes+short video title+contact information)". The deadline for submissions is August 10.

The event is organized by the Zhoushan Taiwan affairs office and the city's literary federation and hosted by the city's film and television artists association. It is being jointly conducted with Jinan University, Zhejiang Ocean University, Zhejiang Communication College, Zhejiang International Maritime Vocational and Technical College, and Taiwan Yishou University, among others.
