Zhoushan's GDP up 8.4% in H1

The GDP of Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province was valued at 97.87 billion yuan ($13.68 billion) in the first half of 2023, up 8.4 percent year-on-year, according to statistics released by the city's bureau of statistics on July 25. 

The added value of Zhoushan's large-scale industries expanded 15.2 percent year-on-year, while the added value of its service industries rose 8.2 percent year-on-year during the first six months of this year.

The city's agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery industries registered a year-on-year increase of 4.5 percent to 12.37 billion yuan during the same period.

The city received 6.91 million tourists, up 59.9 percent year-on-year, and generated tourism revenue of 10.69 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 60.2 percent.

The city's total retail sales of social consumer goods recorded an uptick of 8 percent to 29.2 billion yuan, and the value of its foreign trade rose 11 percent year-on-year.

Income levels also improved. The city's overall per capita disposable income in the first half of this year increased by 6.4 percent to 35,838 yuan.
